Prelude

Greetings

Opening Scripture

 Genesis 1:1-2:4

Call to Worship

In the beginning, God spoke, and light appeared, seas parted, and life sprang forth.
We stand in awe of the God who speaks worlds into being.
In the fullness of time, God came to us - in flesh and bone, in laughter and tears, in death and resurrection.
We stand in awe of the God who loves us enough to become one of us.
Even now, the Spirit moves among us - comforting the grieving, disturbing the comfortable, making all things new.
We stand in awe of the God who refuses to leave us alone.
Three-in-One, One-in-Three - beyond all our categories and yet closer than our own breath:
O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Come, let us worship our Triune God!

Hymn of Welcome #3

Holy, Holy, Holy

Psalm 8

Opening Prayer (Unison)

Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, you are beyond all our names for you, yet you have drawn near to us in love. We cannot fully explain you. We cannot fit you neatly into our categories or contain you in our language. But we know this: you made us, you saved us, and you are with us still. Gather us now in the mystery and wonder of who you are. Quite what is noisy in us. Awaken what has grown dull. And may this hour together draw us deeper into the life of the God who is Three-in-One. We pray in the name of Jesus, who promised to be with us always. Amen.

Call To Confession

Prayer Of Confession (Unison)

Creator God, you looked upon all that you had made and called it very good. Forgive us for breaking it. In our carelessness toward your creation, in our cruelty toward one another, in the violence we have done to the "very good" you intended for every human life. Forgive us for the ways we have failed to follow the one who said, "Go and make disciples." In the places we have held back, played it safe, and loved only those who were easy to love. Forgive us for resisting the Spirit you have poured out among us. Restore us, O God. Make us new. Set us again on the path of your abundant life. Amen.

Assurance Of Pardon

Gloria Patri

Passing of the Peace

The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.

Prayer Of Illumination (Unison)

Holy Spirit, move among us now as you moved over the face of the deep at the beginning of all things, bringing light where there is darkness, order where there is chaos, life where there is emptiness. Open our ears to hear your Word, our minds to receive your truth, and our hearts to be changed by what you have to say. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is the Word made flesh. Amen.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 13:11-13
Matthew 28:16-20

Hymn of Response #79

My Jesus, I love Thee

Affirmation of Faith

The Study Catechism
How do you live for the love of God?
I love because God first loved me. God loves me in Christ with a love that never ends. Amazed by grace, I no longer live for myself. I live for the Lord who died and rose again, triumphant over death, for my sake. Therefore, I take those around me to heart, especially those in particular need, knowing that Christ died for them no less than for me. Amen.

Call For the Offering

Doxology

Prayer Of Dedication (Unison)

Generous God, everything we have comes from your open hand. We return a portion now, trusting that you will multiply it in ways we cannot imagine, for the sake of your kingdom, your people, and this community we love. Receive these gifts and receive us with them. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
